Hello, We arrived safely in Katmandu to the luxury of the Kantipur Temple House. The restuarant brought us a giant dinner that we enjoyed from the comfort of our room. Cable television was limited, but offered couple english channels, Return of the Jedi. The shower had endless hot water and I could sit down on the toilet. Ugne was fully recovered from being sick but I was totally whipped out. After a trip to the pharmacy I could slowly eat more each meal. Katmandu is a great mix of cultures C...

Kathmandu, Nepal durgabasnet... off to the Trisuli river for white water rafting. We arrived after 4 hours on a scary local bus going round bends at high speed dodging other buses.
There was a huge suspension bridge over the river which scared me half to death as I hate heights. We had to cross it to get to the camp site the other side and then back for meals. White water rafting was great fun once I got over my fear of falling in as you sit right on the edge with nothing to hold on to as you are paddling ...
Kathmandu, Nepal lizcap... my day has been pretty dull. I was on my way to explore Durbhar Square when it began raining. The sky looked pretty threatening so I retreated to my Hotel room and have remained here ever since as it keeps raining on and off. Still at least the temperature has dropped a few degrees and the air feels fresher. I even ordered the Dal Baat here that was lovely, probably because I went for the veggie option. I also ordered chapatti and pickle to go with it and decided it is the ...

Occasionally though, the lawnmowers are retired and eaten.

Tomorrow, we may head back to the dirty city but Surya and his police officer friend will try to get me into China first since it's sort of on the way. If I can't get in, he may just cross over for a bit and buy me some cheaper toys for the children at Mother Teresa's child center whose broken, dirty, ridiculous toys I'm replacing.

Later
The weather here is so unpredictable. Charikot, Nepal joannabee... thanked me so much for helping and wished I could stay. They told me to tell anyone who wishes to help to come! Then one of the sisters brought me into her cubby-hole "office" with pictures of Mother Teresa all over the walls and a statue of Mary, surrounded by flowers which sat in plastic orange noodle jars. She told me all about how M. Teresa herself came many years ago, 1988 I believe, and saw how awful it was then. She resolved to ...

Then there ws Ally B.

We did a bit of shopping although it can be very overwhelming to shop in Kathmandu, there is just so much shopping. You really have to do alot of looking first to check out the various qualities of goods and approximate costs, then know what you want and how much you want to pay for it, then find the shop again amongst the ...
