... Bless him, he'd only made a small camp fire over which he was about to, somewhat ceremoniously, cook us a chicken leg. Well, I use the term 'cook'...
Chogill made a set of tongs (sort of!) out of a rather short piece of green wood (green so it wouldn't burn). Onil and Chogill then took it in turns to singe their fingers whilst burning the skin of this chicken leg! After about five minutes cremation they declared it cooked. It seemed too spiritual for my haphazard attempts at rhythm. The peace pagoda itself was a large circular monument with steps all the way around. The perfect symmetrical monument had carvings all the way around and 4 gold statues of Buddha. A man was there painting the white walls and I hadn't ...

... lemon tea. Pretty similar to yesterday’s packed lunch. Traffic not too bad as we back-track on the main road nearly back to the barrage, then off on a narrow road to the park. By the time we arrive it’s nearly 8am, and quite hot – a bit late for bird watching. Ben stays back to work on the truck sorting out the air-conditioning drive belts which are squealing, necessitating frequently turning off the air-conditioning, which is not very ...
