... for good.

I sat with Gilly and Mick at breakfast and then went back to the room to brush my teeth before joining the others and boarding the bus at 8:30 am. We left Gangtok by the same route we entered. I did manage to try to take a few more photos from my vantage point in the back of the bus. I am trying to have bad seats in order to earn merit for a good seat for the drive to Bhutan tomorrow. ... hell of it. The drive from Bagdogra to Darjeeling took about 3 hours. Hundreds of hair pin bends en route with the ever present mantra "Horn OK Please" and "Avaaz Karo" crucially useful to navigate the tight corners. In about 3 hours, you're climbing about 1700m to get to a height of 2100m asl. Tea. Tea. Tea. Darjeeling tea everywhere! Representing about 70% of the economy of the district- the rest, you guessed it- tourism. We were glad and lucky to get ...
