... in the highlands to see an awesome alpine lake. It was actually a trudge through the snow, sometimes up to our knees, to a tiny ice-covered body of water at the top called Mt Okoto, or the Eyeball, because it looked....errr...like an eyeball. This morning Andie had organised the local horse and cart dude to come and pick us up and take us on a Tiki Tour around the village. The cart could only hold 6 at a time so we did it in two rounds. Steve finally had a competitor, with the horse releasing eye watering, noxious gases less than a metre away from Steve's face every 5 minutes or so. Yum! So the 13 of us hunkered down for an hour and swapped stories of Game of Thrones and drank some local brewskis. We had a couple of the locals stop by and yell some things in Bulgarian at us. None of the townsfolk appear to speak English so everything's done in sign language or smiles. It was all good fun and, as mentioned, the locals seem to get a kick out of having us around. ...

... we reached Pamporovo to start our ski trip! Saturday morning and we eagerly attended our first beginners ski lessons, at Malina ski school.
