... oops we forgot to tell you the airport is stupidly expensive...cheers dad!
car ride was looong but its quite a nice journey scenerys lovely. you go out of sofia and through the mountains then its through farmers fields and small villages dotted about. notlooking forward to the bus trip back though, the parents don't fancy a 10 hour round trip to take us back to the airport too, damn!!
Really nice place to find yourself close to the nature. It is high in the mountain ,all around trees, but still you have the comfort you need. The owners are very nice and always help you and cook special local delicious food.it is very quit there, fresh alpine air, nice place for mountain bike, walking, fishing
we spent 4 amazing days , 6 friends enjoying all that.
it' nice to see it
We hired the same driver to take us to Koprivshtitsa, which was the home to many of the central figures in the April Uprising for Bulgarian Independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1876.While the uprising was quashed, it led to the eventual independence in 1879. Cute little village with preserved houses of the patriots, but I wouldn't make a special trip.
Koprivshtitsa, Bulgaria mctubbs... at one time, was the most impressive. My hostel is situated just a couple of yards from this ancient ruins. This section of town is very hilly. Hilly cobbled streets are not easy to negotiate - especially on rainy days. I had a wonderful dinner at a Bulgarian restaurant with real table cloth and matching cloth napkins. I had lentil soup, a filling pork casserole dish and Bulgarian pudding as dessert. I also had a basket of bread (charged separately) and 3 cups of ...
Plovdiv and Sofia, Bulgaria lok... their daughter (whose name evades me now) lived in a house on Oplcenska Str. Nr.8. The building never got finished: barren bricks outside, no hand-rails on the naked cement stairs inside, ugly like hell but warm with love of angelic provenience. (to continue)
Plovdiv, Bulgaria goganKoprivshtitsa is an absolutely lovely village about 1 hour by train from Karlovo. It's a beautiful place for day hikes. During the weekend it does get very touristy. Koprivshtitsa is a historic town in Sofia Province, central Bulgaria, lying ...
Koprivshtitsa, Bulgaria aberlage... 2 hours to visit the town. Then the train, air-style: driving with the doors open with a view of mountain cover with forest. The train was jumping from village to village taking the time to appreciate the travel. After 7 controls of our tickets, we finally end up after the right station. So we manage to get a bus to reach Veliko in the night. It was a nice long day of travel
Plovdiv, Bulgaria worldtasteKarlovo is a lovely town in the mountains. There is almost no tourism what makes it a very nice place to stay. At the time it was extremely hot. The small town of Karlovo lies in a valley of the same name, which in turn is a part of the famous Rose Valley. The town has about 26,000 residents and is situated 141km east of Sofia.
Karlovo, Bulgaria aberlageSpy movie theme music began to play in my head as I boarded the train at Sirkeci station in Istanbul. My sleeper compartment was just like the one James Bond had in the movie "From Russia with Love". Distinctive red and cream coloured arborite paneling on the compartment walls gave it that swank 60's look. Black and white checkerboard vinyl floor tiles accentuated the atmosphere. And I was on the exact same route; Istanbul to Zagreb. Perhaps the best fight scene ever filmed ...
The Train...Further Along, Bulgaria jackdruryKoprivshtitsa was a lot of hard work to get to, after requiring a taxi, train, bus, train, bus and walk to finally get to our home-stay. Koprivshtitsa felt like the true heart of Bulgaria with the small village nestled in the Sredna Gora Mountains. The town itself was a mix of cobblestone streets, red-tile houses, stone bridges and the open air styled houses.
