Today we had an early start . We docked at Chania and very quickly boarded our bus to The Palace of Knossos, the home of the legendary Minotaur. Crete is 300 km wide (East to West ) at the widest part and north to South 33km with it narrows section being 12 kilometres. Rested up in Chania for a day and then onto Rethymno. Ankle back to normal. But my troubles haven’t completely gone away. I have developed a rash on my lower back ( Shingles the doctor says as my immune system is way down). ... goats, and sheep. As soon as Elofonisi came into view, we knew that the drive had been worth it. The beach has several inlets of turquoise water, set off by the white and pink sand. ... fantastic seafood. At the end of the meal we were given free desserts and shots of vodka, an interesting way to end lunch! ... war cemetery. Not sure how he would have defended the bay. Don't think it was a wise decision on his part.
