... down an entire glass - with any other of the smooth, drinkable Georgian wines we've had so far, that would've been entirely possible, but not with a glass of vulture **** light!

Even though we had all had our fill of vulture ****, we still needed to follow the tamada's final instruction - top up all our glasses and down it in one shot, for the final toast. Ugh ... not so easy, but we all managed to do so without gagging, too ...

We passed several villages, two of which were settled by Russian Old Believers who had been deported in the 1860's I think. Armine said they were very hard working and often spurned modern communications and TV - like the Amish in the US. At the Ardahan station, no one spoke a word of anything except Turkish. We were pointed to one office where we were told there are no direct buses to Tbilisi. The ticket guy sold us tickets for the daily 10:30 bus to Akhaltsikhe, and a ticket for a Marshrutka from there for the 4 hour ride ...

... paid for my swim. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. I went back to my guesthouse to catch dinner time. We were serverd a chick pea soup with bread and a side salad along with the normal dessert of delicious watermelon. Hung out in the guesthouse skyping with Courtney and stretching and working out for the remainder of the evening.
It was time to leave Samarkand the next morning and make my way to the second famous city of Uzbekistan called Bukhara. I packed up ...
