The breakfast bell rang at 8am - late for us, very casual breakfast here for the Royal guests. Twas a Euro style breakfast - tea, coffee, bread rolls (white only, but nice), sliced meat, cheese and that was it. We tucked in and enjoyed a very restrained breakfast. ... week. It’s open from 9-12 Monday to Friday. We decided to take our chances. Getting there entailed a good 45 minute drive across the city. The embassy is in a house with a lovely position in a narrowstreet, on a hilltop behind the Buda Castle. NO PARKING outside. I went in and "took my chance" whilst Dave tried to find parking. He was chivvied along by security guards whenever he stopped as there are several embassies there. ...

    Swimming in April

... After renting the boys floats (pool noodles with a connector that made a loop), we entered the least populated of the four pools in the main building. There was of course a reason that it was the least populated - it was the cold water pool. It was a struggle to get in, and there was much grumping about why all the Hungarian thermal pools/baths we had visited so far seemed to be much too cool. We then swam over to the gate to check out one ...
