Over all, it was a nice day with a great group of people. The tour bus was awesome and I was able to catch-up on a couple of the Disney movies I don't think I've seen all the way through before (since their were kids on the trip the guide let them pick the movies to play while we were driving). It was about 2.5 hours of driving with a 20 minute rest stop along the way.

... to enter, blocking the exit for us. We found it quite humorous however the JICE and JOCA did not. Also reading students (not the three caught on train) journal entries described their feelings of concern. We learnt that this will never happen again and so all were vigilant in disembarking immediately. Students got to travel on a ferry today to the island of Oshima. ...

... the countless buildings across Japan. That's a good thing, as there is very little else left standing in Hiraizumi and the attractions mainly consist of foundation stones marking the locations of once grand buildings. Riding around in the bus covering all the different sites across town, the driver anticipated the boredom of the passengers and started singing old songs about the region. At least that is what the others told us.
