Waiting at Hamburg - Harburg station was our friend Martin Stegmaier - the husband of Miriam (Henry's cousin). So off we went to his home in Tostedt and to a wonderful welcome in the form of a family dinner with Auntie Paula and her new husband of 5 years - ...

... originally dividing East and West Germany is still standing. It is quite confronting when you see it in reality. Even the windows of the people in the East had to be bricked up if they faced the west! And then, we were driven to meet with extended family in Schwulper. We had a wonderful lunch - German style with the obligatory schnitzel etc. etc. Attending this celebration was Uncle Hans (Opa's brother) and his wife Hannelore, Lydia (cousin) and Werner ...
