... nter had bought us lots from the bakery, so we had a relaxed coffee and cake before heading off to the airport. We were very early, so we drove to the Fuelbecker Talsperre reservoir on the way, which was beautiful as ever, and then arrived nice and early to have a relaxed time in the airport. We ate pizza and got into the waiting room early, which is always nice. A short flight and a long drive later we finally arrived home, safe and sound!
As it happens sometimes in life you have to write exams. As the exam centre was close to Bielefeld I checked in into the youth hostel to enter the exams as calm as possible.
The weather was beautiful and so I decided to stop studying for a little while to enjoy the surroundings.

second night so went for another cycle, the opposite way round the
lake and visiting the town of Korbeck (Sp??), which is by the lake,
it seemed a bit of a Seaside town with little happening, there was a
Supermarket at least so we got some supplies, the cycle was 12.5miles

Today we started out toward the East, to Detmold Germany, in search of mom's ancestors on her mom's side, the Noltes. We have pinpointed them to Detmold, and a small town North of Detmold called Hohenhausen. It was our first time on the Autobahn in Germany and we had fun! My top speed was 130k/hr (80/mph) and Chans top speed was 170k/hr (110/mph). STILL, cars passing us! Germans and their cars are built for ...
Drive on to Mohnesee a big lake just east of Dortmund. Got in a few snatched walks between the rain storms and took in the view from the top of the dam which was destroyed in WW2 by the British Dambusters. A little culture for us – Ben and I have decided we are whirlwind tourists as invariably we go to see these sights but only ever manage a maximum of 30minutes wandering around them! We are not details people!!
