NOW I read that it always rains all the time in north Spain. Should have read the literature before I guess. Ferry from Porthmouth to Bilbao was much cleaner and smarter than I expected. Now in Bilbao in a camping site that is actually closed except for the restaurant which is rather good. Not sure why they let us book? We are the only ones here and parked in the restaurant carpark. The most impressive work of art is the structure of the museum itself. Gehry said when he was planning the design of the building, he put his pen to a piece of paper and started drawing without ever taking it off the paper. When you see the pictures, you'll see what he was saying.

After lunch, we spent the rest of the afternoon at the Guggenheim museum, designed by
Frank Gehry. It is a pretty interesting looking building. Everyone here
worships it and calls it the most beautiful building in the world but I think
it looks rather strange. Then again, I'm not really a fan of modern
architecture...or modern art for that matter. The whole museum was filled with
modern art, ...
... wine tourism, and so have been on a lot of wine tours; they can start to feel redundant, but this one was fresh and informative. If we hadn't visited the gargantuan underground wine city in Chisinau, the winery's private collection of tens of thousands of bottles of wine would have been an astounding sight. We were still very impressed that they have at least ten bottles (and typically more like 1,000 bottles) from each year since they first produced wine in 1860. ...
