... with teachers preparing for their day on the Amalfi Coast. A teacher had baked a large cake and was preparing to cut it up for the children. I approached her and asked if I could take a photo of her wonderful cake. A few minutes passed and she bought over (2) large slices of the cake for us. The Italian people are so helpful and generous and the cake solved the problem for morning tea for us.

We boarded the ferry on the top deck to enjoy ...

... gilded mosaics impressed us all. In the basement of the church was the more recently renovated crypt of St. Matthew which was completely adorned in intricate marble inlay on the walls and floors. Very impressive.

Earlier, in the day Veda and Sally visited the interactive virtual museum of the medieval Salerno Medical School. Apparently between the 12th and 14th centuries, Salerno was a ...

Well, we didn't expect this.
Today we have a tale of a lawless dash across the south of Italy by a desperate fugitive with police hot on his trail.
Paul claims he took a wrong turn and ended up bowling along on the autostrada - flying in the face of legal restrictions that preclude vehicles under 150cc from travelling on the country's premier roads.
Sat Nav has been blamed - yet again.

... were craving gelato (as usual) so we found a place in our piazza that we all agreed had the best gelato of all the places we have tried so far! Marco got cocco and duplo, Paolo got cookies and duplo, Olivia got menta e nutella, and Selena got straciatella and caffe (sorry we don't have pics!!). After dessert, we went to bed early (around 1130) because we have an early morning breakfast/drive to Paestum tomorrow!
