... or the poor live in the centro storico? Why can't anyone understand Mike when he asks for a canolli?

Our B&B is at the beginning of the centro storico, in a piazza called Piazza Portanova, meaning New Gate, the one built mid-1700's. He said he was so excited to see the Allies come. He said the Germans didn't have anything compared to America. His family stayed south of the fighting. ... of our 5 days there. I took so many photos of the surroundings and will bore you all with them upon my return. It was just like a postcard, everywhere you looked. The little restaurant in San Sano, that we ate at 3 out of 5 nights, was just perfect- gorgeous food, lovely family-run business etc. The whole experience in Chianti was blissful!
But time waits for no one- and we were ready to move to our next WOW destination. I remember when we ...
