    ... a lot of history and the buildings are old. Its interesting to note that in spite of the city having been severely bombed by the allies during the war, the three cathedrals, which sport tall spires, were never hit or damaged. Must be a divine force at work.

    Holland is done, and now its time to move on. I needed to have a business meeting in Hamburg, Germany and so we packed up and hit the road. The trip was fairly uneventful apart from a mistake by "The ***** in the Box"....Garmin to some.....when she failed to tell us about some road works just outside Gronigen in Holland. These road works had closed the road and there were no signs giving us an alternative route. ...

Pretty basic with a toilet block only in the motorhome area and main facilities and showers etc. up the road and across the dyke but at 13euro a night, it's just what we needed for this quick journey breaker.     Saturday 31st May

    We got a lift into town & caught the 8.15 bus to Hamburg, a 2 hour ride on the autobahns, which are in excellent condition in contrast to the autostradas of Italy. The countryside is very neat & green but is so flat. Arriving at the bus station we headed for the MK & G museum, a huge building nearby.
