      ... French that WE are actually the owners of these seats and they pleasantly vacated. Seems to be the practice get on train, find a nice comfy seat, set up shop and remain in it until someone ghastly tourist from Oz starts carrying on like a pork chop.       ... guide and by the time we got there we were very, very hot. Luckily the air conditioning was working as we headed to Monte Carlo. We saw Elton John's house high on a hill. (Wendy later found out that Sean Connery was his neighbour. Now that would have been more interesting to see!)       Another beautiful day and we are in the glamorous port of Monte Carlo, perhaps most famous for being the hangout of the rich, the exclusive casinos, and of course not forgetting the annual formula one race. This isn't somewhere we would have chosen to visit, so we are intrigued to see what this place is all about. The first thing we see is the marina filled with super yachts and those not quite so super but very nice just the same.

      ... accept cash, and nor did it accept the fifty other cards we tried to pay with. We had no idea what to do! It was lucky the car in the lane next to us was also having the same problem, and they had managed to get hold of an attendant who made her way s-l-o-w-l-y to collect the cash, and get this, s-l-o-w-l-y back to her till to get change and then s-l-o-w-l-y back to give the change.
