Hotel Jolly Ravenna

We are on our last day in Rimini, and we're both quite glad of it. Not that we haven't had a good time (though the hostel has been a bit rubbish).

The journey down here from Munich was a real slog! It took 8 hours, though that didn't really bother us too much. 8 hours of discomfort on a cramped Italian train however, that was what made it difficult. It was a compartment style train (6 seat per compartment, 3 on each side facing each other) which seemed great when we first sat down ...

...so that is one way to paint it. Sounds lovely, doesn't it? Well it is!!

But this picture is also true...

I have wondered why on earth I knowingly and willfully came here!? Is this fun? Well heck no!!! It is hard work, I am in the middle of nowhere, it is filthy dirty – practically a junkyard! The conditions for the animals, in Italian standards are fair. However, I have a hard time stomaching it. The cows are kept in chains in a shed, the pigs in a ...

... farmstay. It is a whole caravan of 100 or so campers! Very fun people! So we'll see. I still struggle with good byes – so it was a much gentler good bye to instead say see ya later...

Reluctantly I left Roma the next day. With a bit of anxiety, and a lot of stress, I caught my train with about 30 seconds to spare!

And now I'm here! On the farm! Much to share, but that'll wait for the next entry!

Am nächsten Morgen - nach Frühstück - Aufbruch nach Assisi - ca. 15 min. Fahrzeit. Da d** Parkplatz am Fuss des B**ges liegt auf dem die Stadt liegt - kurzes "Schlucken" - ab** in 10 min. warn wir beim Dom - dann ar wied** alles ok !
Assisi - eine wirklich wund**schöne alte Stadt , in die ich demnächst sich** mal auf läng** zurückkommen w**de.

We got to Rimini later that night after Pompeii. It was another 6 hour drive so again we were exhausted. We checked into the hotel and it was perfect. Nicer than the last one we were at. We had booked in advance for the night and the rate was 30eros cheaper than the next night so we (I) thought we would just get there and tell them we wanted another night at the same price. ... the track prices were so high for the gear and we got it for joining the fan club. From here we went to the town of Rimini and tried to find the Italian National motorcycle Museum. The GPS had us in the area but we couldn’t find it , even asking around was fruitless so we drove around the local airport side road amongst farm houses and came upon it tucked up a side road with very little signage. Ravenna was a pleasant surprise. The town center is mostly pedestianized and using bikes to get around is encouraged with free loaner bikes at the tourist info center. You don't dodge cars in Ravenna, you watch out for bikes! So naturally this creates a quiet ambience in the town center made for strolling. Le cose più belle sono successe in questo viaggio. Ho conosciuto gente dal tutto il mondo e ho fatto amici veramente di cuore. Al corso italiano che andavo ho conosciuto l'amore della mia vita e la persona migliore per girare il mondo.
