Today's festival was a city celebration in Monterrey Mexico. We arrived two find that we were loading in through mud and were slipping on everything. We could only get so much loaded in because we had to share the stage with other groups. In essence it was similar to a Bonnaroo or Lalapalooza festival. ... as the day we arrived was a public holiday so the place was crowded. He climbed ‘The spires’ and it was nice to chat to them afterwards at La Posada as they cooked up on the BBQs provided. A young Mexican boy and girl made a big fuss of Indi and the boy took some photos of her with his DSLR camera, Kat chatted to him and ended up finally understanding what camera and lens she would want to buy when we went next to Taiwan.

... Mexico before except on top of the mountains in the far distance. It is a good thing we had electricity so we could run the furnace all night.

We waited until 10 am to leave, we wanted the roads to be clear and dry, and they were. We planned to take a curvy picturesque road in the mountains, but, were afraid it might be slippery. We went back to Monterrey and on to Durango.

The first few days here I felt pretty out of place and thought I would seriously go bananas if another person asked or talked about how many pitches, jugs, dihedrals, ropes, etc... Over the last week, the influx of people has become a very endearing tribe of people to me. I will miss my morning routine of unzipping the sleeping bag and tent.
