... Falls. We got to the trail, but chose not to do the hike. Again today, the storms were moving in. I didn't want to get caught up on a dirt road that was getting washed out. So we headed back down the mountain and back to Gunnison. The timing was almost perfect. We just got down to the paved road before the heavy rains came.

We headed to Aspen early in the morning. It was our attempt to see some wildlife. Well the scenery was beautiful but we didn't see any wildlife. We stopped off at a scenic overlook of the San Juan mountains. In addition to the mountains we also seen the large reservoir. No real roads to get to the lake, you have to do some off roading.

I’m not really convinced it would be worth paying more for a “better” hotel though since so little time is actually spent in the room. But it is something to consider for the next time. The main point of the trip was the skiing though and Aspen/Snowmass really delivered a great experience in that regard.

    Day 7 & 8

Our first shopping day yay!!! Today we decided to hire a car and check out the outlets, Rick's Restorations and Vegas in general. We managed to purchase all of our ski gear and lots of other bargains, even Billy went a little cray cray in Tommy Hilfiger lol!! After a big day of shopping we headed back to the motel to pack our bags for our flight to Aspen in the morning.

... and spills galore as the skiers tackled the very fast and demanding tight turning course.

What a weekend! The end of our time watching the Workd Cup skiers and we were certainly not disappointed. To travel half way around the world was worth it. An experience we will never forget and certainly aim to do again.
