10,000 feet, indoor living, and ESPN!

... 500ft. We were kinda looking forward to going and spending some time in Vail, which was the town right before we started that climb. We decided that we'd save that visit for another time, didn't want to put "Charlie" through that pain again....

We arrived in Copper Mountain Resort area around 1:30 and did a little walking around. We soon realized that this town ...

First Full Day! Mt. Evans

... pretty close to University of Denver in the cutest little bungalow house. It was a very charming pad and her backyard was so nice, complete with a bad ass brick patio and rose garden! She made us a wonderful salad and this light pasta dish, and you know I had to accept her offer of beer. We were all exhaused by the time we got there but Sue’s upbeat personality woke us up quite well. We stayed for a couple hours and headed back to Bern’s.

... are short lived as I become one with her 70’s retro green couch. So I’m not sure what these girls are drinking but if Squeaky Fromme and C Manson started a 14er commune these girls would have been disciples, they have drank from the hiking well and I really don’t think we can cure them without shock treatment and a 12 step program, that being said I would hike with these wonderful women anytime I just will have to adjust the shock collar so we can park closer.

The end of camp :(

... surrounded by snow and ice which is strange in august but gives you an idea of temperatures!! The views the whole way up were absolutely stunning, and, like Mt Kenya, ever changing all the way to the top.

Now it is time to go and wake the campers from their rest and get ready for the last Vespers and Dance of the summer. More to follow.

Mid camp update

... kids. When at camp we slept in the tents at ‘Push camp’ which is a permanent campsite on site and while we were out with the BOEC staff who were leading our trip we set up our own tents wherever we were camping that night. Todd and I were not told anything about the activities we were doing, we were just told that we would be needed for our ‘mum’ and ‘dad’ voiced to keep the kids in line so we probably wouldn’t be liked!! As it ...

Gorgeous mountains? Check. Rich goons? Check.

This weekend seemed like one of the longest I had experienced. It was almost like I had quit my job and began living a real life. In fact, I almost did quit my job, until I came back down to earth. It had been since last Wednesday that I worked (sick Thursday and Friday), and I knew we did not have to work in the office on President's day. It was time to do something new this weekend. For some reason, a seven hour round-trip road ...

Spring Skiing and Lots of Snow

This year we skied for two weeks and both spring skiing and some good snow. We skied Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, and Arapahoe Basin. One day Peter and Ron took the day off and went fly fishing with a guide in Silverthorne. It was cold and they caught one fish but they still had a good time. Mike and Laurie joined us for a couple of days which was great!

I'll spare you the details of the third movie we saw . We caught up with a Bob, McKenzie and Darcy who have been volunteering at the festival for a few years know and are part of the Shambhala crowd. This also gave us the ...
