We started our day at the Charles Bridge, and along the way, we witnessed the most horrifying statues we had ever come across: giant crawling babies with zippers for faces. After the tour we walked back into town ( the long way) and got dinner at a touristy but good traditional Czech place. ... I continued to walk along the river bank anyway. That's the beauty of travelling on your own, I suppose. With all the streets looking identical, it took me quite a while to find my way back to the Old Town. On my way there I stumbled upon Jess, Kat, Steph, and Dave who were wandering around a nearby market. Being late afternoon, we decided to grab dinner together at a nearby Asian restaurant. ... Eventually we put the girls back on a tram and then headed home. The bus for Prague left at 11.30am, so we decided to just have a sleep in and meet up at the bus.
Overall I really enjoyed Dresden. I know good weather and good company make a big difference, but the old town was very scenic and the new town was buzzing for the 2 nights we were there (Saturday and Sunday). Now I'm off to Prague to see what all the fuss is about!
