Woke up beach side this morning and had breaky by the shore. Some very dark looking clouds had rolled closer over night and we managed to pack up just in time before the heavy rain hit. Popped up to the restaurant and used a bit of wifi to work out where to next before checking out and hitting the road. The guy still had no idea where we were from as he kept speaking Dutch to me. Heading down to the road, we crossed over several mountains, down into two valleys and past a dried up lake. At times, the area looked like the Mongolian steppe. We even saw some amazing geological features (folded mountain ranges).

After 2 hours, we had ran out of food and water! By the time we eventually reached the road ...

... part of Montenegro. We inflated the raft, and set out on an almost fifty kilometer (eight-hour) raft back to the campsite. Beginning on the river Tara, we hit white-water and strong currents. This is a river that in May, as the winter ice drains away from the mountains, becomes fast and furious. As we crossed the river, our rafting instructor got out to get a lift back, as Cat and I, along with four Danish guys and the lovely Stefan began a four hour raft back on Drina. I've ...
