... night and had to vomit some times, but this was probably just from the heat. I also had to get used to a different livestyle, the daily rhythm fo cycling, eating, resting, cooking and packing and of course making decisions with a group of 15 to 20 persons is a big challenge!
Now I feel more fit then the first week. Today I even pulled the trailer of the group, which I never did ...
... with full belly we got into the cheep taking us to the river. Rafting was amazing fun, and i have got some nice pictures of it.
We received our lunch at around 17:00, good time, eh?
I was glad, the tour bus could drop me next to Podgorica, where i arranged a couch with Couchsurfer Sasa.
BTW, it is damn hot here, i only run with ...
... though I told him I wasn't interested. From my experience, we hitchhikers were more likely to get picked up by aggressive, sexually-interested guys in countries where the women were conservative - for example, Greece and Turkey. My third driver had lived in New York but said he was happy he was married to a Montenegirl, because he was allowed to "beat the hell" out of her. And the Black Mountainite women didn't have much to say for themselves ...
Lake Biograd, Montenegro modernoddyseus... and do everyday and headed off for the park. I didn't have a map of the park and the lonely planet doesn't give much info on it so I tried to find a map from some where the only place I could find was selling it for 5 Euros so I decided against it and just went to find my own way around. Once I got into the park I was immediately greeted by the black lake and the snowy capped mountains above it reflecting in the water it really was truly beautiful and the sun had still to fully come ...
Durmitor National Park, Montenegro richardcowley... for about 3 hours or so. I find it really funny in all the countrys I am travelling in especially Europe the locals ask you something in their lanuage and you look at them blankley and say sorry I dont understand and then point to yourself and say English, or England to tell them you are not from there but yet they still keep talking to you in their lanuage asking you the same question and you do the same response in English sorry I am from England I dont understand ...
Durmitor National Park, Montenegro richardcowley... right like we were told to, and walked to the ski resort. When we got there there were no signs or markers, so we asked around to find the "well-marked" trail to Black Lake. Again, this did not seem as "easy" as the information girl led us to believe. We walked for another 45 mins or so...and finally came to some markings (red dots with white centers). We found an actual trail after a good 1.5 hours of walking. When we finally found the Crno jezero (Black lake ...
Zabljak, Montenegro laytonandjana... here have one compartment in which the front half is for nonsmokers and the back half for smokers. Yup, as if smoke stops midway down the open compartment. Oops, got off on a tangent. I was dropped off at Bogetici, the town below Ostrog Monastery. It is the main pilgrimage site for Serbian/Montenegran/Croatian Orthodox Catholics and has two levels, lower and upper monasteries 3 kms apart. The upper monastery seemed to be carved out from the canyon ...
Niksic, Serbia and Montenegro lilyc... appointment; four other people had cancelled. It was a one-on-one rafting experience. We went over some rapids, hiked to where Utica River formed from underground sources, but most of the time was spent on chatting and learning about Montenegran culture and words. It was the first time I ever rafted with my ski gloves, hat, jacket, socks, and 2 wetsuits. Though it didn't snow ...
Zabljak, Serbia and Montenegro lilyc... Well, that's better than just a loop around the lake so I joined him. Tony's a restauranteer and an avid expert snowboarder so his vacation goals include scouting out future bar/restaurant locations and the next ski season. We hiked for 2 hours to reach this Ski Center. Maybe there was an operating chairlift. The thought of leisurely sitting and enjoying the beautiful views was very appealing. My hopes of being chairlifted to the top of the mountain were dashed ...
Zabljak, Serbia and Montenegro lilycThe journey here, though it made for a long day, put Mostar - Sarajevo to shame. Getting up at some obscene time (considering the night before, at least), I had to catch the trolleybus out to the Lukavica bus station in the Republic Srbska area of the city. Despite the harmony within the centre, there are still some obvious political tensions still left, hence a divided city with two transport centres, two sets of near identical currency (one with the latin ...
