Day 1041 We spent eleven days on the east coast of Bali. Sanur is a downsized version of Kuta, with a lot more villas, giving it a bit more of an upscale feel. There are less street vendors too, which is a blessing when you spend a lot of time in these areas. There are also fewer tourists. This gives the vendors a chance to remember our faces and cuts down on the sales pitches even more. It also helps that we walk the same route to the beach ...

Room 8 s a very traditional Balinese one room house with heavily carved doors and windows and an especially beautiful view from the verandah/balcony out to the sea, so I am very happy to have my last few days in it.

We met an English couple, David and Lucy at the Sunshine bar and found out that David teaches at an international school in KL and Lucy was on her way out to join him. We discussed our travel plans and David said that a well-travelled friend of his thought Gili Air was just about as close to ...

    Time to leave Derawan

A travel blog entry by tobirgits on Apr 05, 2014

So today I need to leave Derawan again and fly back to Bali where I will stay for a few nights and then continue to Bangkok.

I had a great time in Derawan with Serge, Colette, Maite and Guy. I will miss them and hope to see them again!
