Hotel Jati & Home Stay Sanur

... here are crazy!) so we stayed in Sanur and bummed around until today, when we had to check out. Now we're in Kuta (ugh) with Jodie and Michiyo hanging around until we go to the airport at 10pm. Their flight is only 20min after ours so it works out that we can share a cab to the airport.

Next stop is Singapore, but only briefly as we're catching a bus into Melaka, Malaysia as soon as we arrive. Wedding in 2 weeks!

... place I lucked upon in Sanur. Flashback's - a guesthouse with only a few rooms around a lovely secluded courtyard with pool. Think Melrose Place, even though the others residents who spend a lot of time living and leaving there, hated that cheesy term for their little slice of heaven. It was really nice to be part again of a little community of interesting characters and I made a few good friends again which led to this place being my Bali highlight.

The journey from Ubud to Kuta was pretty uneventful. We were dropped off and made our way to Sayang Maha Mertha, where we had stayed before and with whom we had a reservation. ... being thrown at you. Things have been tough since the trouble here a few years ago, so the haggering has worsened, since tourism has slowed down. For someone like me who loves to be where others are not, my own paradise, but I know that the locals of all these wonderful places I go survive on people like me, so its a two way street. I may head up to Ubud a day earlier , I hear that things are quieter up there, and it is peace and serenity I'm seeking after all.
