    ... sweet tooth, of course we all kept him company. On our return to Oberstaufen we detoured to the Wieskirche (white church) which is a UNESCO world heritage site. It was built in 1730 ten years after a farmer witnessed a statue oh Christ weeping. Millions of people each year make a pilgrimage to this beautiful and highly decorated Catholic Church.     ... we have visited. These murals sparked young Ludwig's love of romantic tales. Neuschwanstein was never lived in but alot had been finished before Ludwig was declared bankrupt. The decorations and furnishings are lavish and once again the walls painted with murals, but on a grander scale.     I made it back to the bus for 10.45. They could have allowed another 20 mins for this part of the tour to explore the grounds. The schedule is tight because of the unpredictable tour time slots at Neuschwanstein coming up so they have to leave a larger window for that.

    ... in the middle of no-where, although as we know you are never too far from somewhere when in Germany as it is so populated. They do a fantastic job of having towns that seem very remote though, so it does not really feel all that populated.
