Sunday- My new UK friend and I wake up and take a walk through Rishikesh in search of toilet paper (which isn't common in India), towels, and just to see what’s around. There are monkeys and sadhus ("holy men" who give up all material posessions and sexual attachments and live in caves, forests and temples all over India), and cows everywhere. ... br> I saw some camps with tents to take care of visitors, during some festivals thousands come. I took some photos after asking permission at the site of the devotees of Shri Ram Sherma Acharya.
Something I enjoyed very much in Rishikesh was walking in the late afternoon along the river. The Ganges is clean here and I dip my feet in the water (it was quite cold).
Many of the sadhus bathe in the Ganges and do not seem to feel the cold.
