Kashmir Road Katra, Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India, 182301
Well, I had a weird weekend so far. I'm back in Delhi for now, although I was meant to be in Rajasthan for the whole weekend. Jaipur is charming and a lovely town which I hope to go back to, but we had to shake some charlatans, so we woke up at 5am, and skeedaddled. I don't have time for the details now (sorry mom, thanks for being good natured and not freaking out about it on the phone) because I want to do the whole story justice. I want to capture the moments as they painted the marriage c...

... can't they see people are trying to sleep). Fell asleep again to be woken up by the same guys snoring this time. Eventually reached Amritsar at around 3.15am... Caught a tuk-tuk to my hotel. Checked in and found my room to be very nice indeed. Not 5 star obviously but compared to what I've had this was the best so far. Settled in and read some of the Rough Guide and contemplated heading to the Golden Temple for sunrise. Decided against it and eventually got to bed around 5am.

Till now thing where smooth, on the way back we took a route known as Hatti Matha. We soon realized that it had a difficult angle to walk down. This took a loot of stress on the body and we came down at 5:30am.
This experience was amazing and any one visiting should go in off season and have VIP passes
Back in Jalandhar I will be going for shopping today and plan for Waga border and Golden Temple tomorrow……

Then there is a big tunnel of aroung 3 km which is the boundry line between Jammu and Srinagar. This tunnel is one way and is the lognest one. Security is provided from both the sides of the tunnel. The tunnel is closed everyday in the evening.
Then there is one more tunnel near to Srinagar "green tunnel". This is with the trees. Big trees from both sides are so close and they appear as if it is a tunnel.
We reached our hotel in Srinagar around 8.30 pm
... is with stairs, shortcut. We walked down almost 6-7 kms but exhausted. So two members decided to go by Pony, Sandeep and laxmi.
Me and Shrikant continues to walk with the shortcut routes. Obviously small breaks were must in between, but we made the journey successful.
We finished the journey by 9.30 pm totally exhausted and unable to walk ahead a single step. Dinner and reaching the hotel was also very difficult.
... referring to the present day Jammu). It is also generally believed that the Pandavs were the first to build the temples at Kol Kandoli and Bhawan in reverence and gratitude for the Mother Goddess. On a mountain, just adjacent to the Trikuta Mountain and overlooking the Holy Cave are five stone structures, which are believed to be the rock symbols of the five Pandavs. Perhaps the oldest reference of the visit of a historical figure to the Holy Cave is that of Guru Gobind ...
Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, India kulyash.sharma... shrine. After this visit as planned we also visited the mountain top, Patnitop and Sanasar . We had one and half days in hand , before travelling to Jammu,at Delhi.Hence, we took days trip to Jaipur. While on our return journey ,we travelled to Chandigarh. So in a span of 12 days , out of which six days were in the train as we were travelling from Bangalore, we could cover four destinations. So we guess it was a well planned trip.
Katra, India avanthika... fried fish for lunch we decided that we may as well be in for a penny as for a pound) and a very good Paneer Lababda, all washed down with an unlicensed Kingfisher beer which was procured for us with a nod and a wink by the helpful waiter. Tomorrow we head for the hills, our journey to the Himalayas nearly complete.
