    ... lake at the crack of 9:30!

    The lake here in the morning is like glass. Patrick and Alice had told me the night before that when they are up here, they always try to swim early morning and then again in the late afternoon as the lake is the calmest. I could see why. I'm a bit of a fair weather person and the lake is not exactly the 'warmest' so I waited until I could guarantee myself a spot of sunshine to dry off in!

    ... then flips over and slams into the rock face. Now today he wakes up with a sore back and a very sore neck. Therefore hiking was out the window. In all honesty I was still a bit tired from the 4-5 hours we were hiking yesterday so I could deal with a day of relaxation. I awoke pretty early to go downstairs and use the hostels free laundry machines to get most of my clothes nice and fresh. It's been a while since we have had access to a dryer so this was going to be ...

    ... the wisdom of psychopaths" tonight. I guess I could use a quiet night anyway.

    While I was eating my fondue and drinkin my free coffee I met the three other non-asians in the hostel, haha. These guys were Canadian. It was nice to have some people to chat with after being cooped up for hours today. We hit the local pub and saw a bit of Swiss life.

    ... 11:15am. We reached Lutzigers house and were received very warmly by Hans, his wife and Isabelle's sister Caroline.

    Caroline and Han's wife very kindly offered to take care of the kids while Hans took us on a quick tour of Berne. The kids loved the swimming pool and had loads of fun at Hans house and also they were so tired that on the long drive to Brussles they slept for most of the time ...

    ... Sooner that I thought, our alarms were going off and we were up and at breakfast with no idea of what was ahead of us. They served bread and cereal, pretty much identical to the breakfast in Paris, but they had a great coffee machine. Two coffees later were were on our way to the Outdoor shop to rent gear and get lift tickets. All of the workers there had different types of accents and were all really nice and friendly.
