... us (probably me) went ass over head. We made our way to the station and back down to where the air is a bit thicker. At Kleine Scheidegg we decided to take the alternate route down the mountain to our car via Lauterbrunnen. Another nice trip. But maybe we were becoming desensitised to Swiss landscape beauty? We both agreed that the trip up the mountain this morning was by far a superior view. Back in the car, we picked up some supplies (not ...

I love open air anything in Switzerland. It usually means that there are fire pits around where you can have an impromptu BBQ/pic nique. ... by accident we sat in 1st class wondering why the train was so empty and quiet until the ticket lady came around telling us we weren't supposed to be there. 10 minutes later we ended up on the stairs by the door because both levels of 2nd class were full. Huge downgrade! Although, the ride went fast and we found our hostel really easily. We booked the 4 mixed bed room, so we had a room to ourselves with 2 armchairs, a coffee table, and sink. It was really nice that we ...

... was walking about 45 minutes on a track up to a small picnic / restaurant shack up the side of the Monch, quite hard work walking straight uphill but so worthwhile. Keith was the only one in shorts, although by the end of the walk others wished they were, even though the air temp was minus 3.7 degrees (pretty mild really). Resting on the top, we chatted to a couple of locals working in tourism and gleaned great advice about where to go next, ...
