... called Jungfrau. Apparently incredible views of the mountains & Europes longest/largest glacier 'Aletsch', snow & ice all year round. It's very expensive to get to the top 180 franc & with the bad weather not clearing enough for the two days we are in Switzerland it would be a waste of money & we are advised to skip it. On our return to Lauterbrunnen we wander through a few shops & purchase some Swiss chocolate from the supermarket. Our busabout ...

After a lovely fry up in our apart hotel we hit the road on a lovely morning to head another 230 miles north into Switzerland, we entered on vapours as we had been told the diesel is really cheap only to find it's not! Hence the fill up cost us another 10.

We walked through a tunnel and it was all ice. The floors, walls and ceiling.. Everything! It was cold but fun. Then we got ...

... on a scenic route, but the mountains, lakes, trees, and small tidy houses bathed in clear sunlight topped by small fluffy white clouds seem like pretty first rate scenery to me. The second train contains a group chatting to each other in their common language of English, on topics ranging from travellers detained on weak grounds (Istanbul and USA) to one guy's experience of living in Kiribati to the German-accented man's opinion on smartphones (likes ...

... it or come and see for yourselves.
Brig is the first Swiss station and I had to change here to continue north into Switzerland as opposed to going west or east. Our train had been held up on the line so we were 16 mins late and even though I missed my original connection European trains are so prevalent there was another one sitting on an adjacent platform 'going my way' so on I hopped. Well I didn't hop, clambered would be more like it but you get the picture.
