Our last day of riding
... snowing! There was snow everywhere, however thankfully the road has been cleared and salt put down so the road was safe to ride.
It was crazy that the other day we were riding in nice warm weather and today we were in snow! Thankfully our bikes had hand-warmers which kept our hands from freezing and made the ride a bit more pleasant.

Beasts of Burden and Fruits of the Earth
... of tractors bearing bee hives, twisted iron tools to churn the soil, barrels of flour which were scattered to the wind and rubicund milkmaids then donkeys piloted the procession of the honoured beasts of burden including men yoked by ponderous bells, goats and cows with fanning firry headgear (which really reminded my mistress of a painting called Haymaking by Paul Gauguin which is in the Courtauld Gallery ...
Davos
... as we had a 7 am start to drive Rod and Tan to Zurich International airport and then drive ourselves over to the Berner Oberland. The Berner Oberland pass we were planning to get is valid for 3 days within a 7 day period so we had been keeping a close eye on the weather which had been constantly changing. We had postponed our exploration of the Berner Oberland due to inclement weather and it seemed like we would have a few days of sunshine over the coming week so we decided to chance it. ...
Back to Stelvio pass we wind
... walk we went to the restaurant and had yummy pizza for dinner and a small bottle of wine. Rhys then went to bed very early to hopefully sleep off his cold while I got another small bottle of wine and settled in a comfortable chair with my book for the evening. I was also lucky enough to catch Megan, Neeve and Marley on skype for a nice chat.
Wine finished and the knowledge of waking up at 4.30am to catch granddad on skype I went to bed for an early night. ...
The beds are comfier in Austria...so far
... hell out of some cheese for our yummy fondue! With the bike completed it was the most TLC it had, had for a long time. We went upstairs and had a fantastic cheese fondue Elke had prepared for dinner, after which we went for a great walk around the village. After the walk we were all still very full of cheese so had a game of pool, Rhys beating Michael a few times!
We then all hit the sack and the big test will be if there is fuel on the ground again tomorrow morning, fingers ...
