Eulenweg 3-5 Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany, 38442, 5361-39090
Today we took the S-Bahn to the University and I showed her where I go to class and where my institute is. Then we took the scenic walk back to the Altstadt, through the parks and along the river. We got supplies for the feast and headed back to Weststadt to help out. Surprisingly everything turned out ok. We played basketball and football before everything was finished ...
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiepWe headed to the Hamburg Hauptbahnhof to get tickets back to Braunshweig. We stopped in Hannover for 1 hour and we quickly walked through some of the shopping section. We were tired when we finally arrived so we hung out in my room for a while just relaxing. We hung out with all of the URI students in Weststadt and it was a lot of fun.
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiepThere was going to be part of a German tv show filmed in the main area in front of the Schloss. The show is called "Wetten, dass?" and it basically is a betting game where someone comes on the show and they bet that they can complete some sort of ridiculous task. If they do, the contestants from each bet get the chance to win something, this time it was an Audi. The show was actually filmed in the VW Halle some distance from Braunschweig and they had performers like the Black ...
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiep... It was pretty intense, especially since the crazy Mob-like Braunschweig fans were singing songs the whole time. Then we got ready for the Halloween party at Shunter. It takes forever to get there but eventually we did. The party was slow and not really Halloween-like since all the Germans just put on face paint to look scary and haven’t really gotten into the interesting/funny ...
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiepIt was a beautiful day outside so Wendy and I decided to take a walk in the Nature conservatory area on the edge of the city. It took a long time to get there (40 minutes) but we walked around for about 2 hours and saw some beautiful landscape. It was nice to get away from the city and enjoy the Fall colors.
That night there was a volleyball event at the Sports-zentrum. Soth, Steve, Shawn, Drew and I went to just ...
... there was a short breakfast and then Wendy and I went to go pick up our Visa's. We are now officially allowed to be in Germany for 1 year! We hung around Friday night and baked wurst in onions, cauliflower and peppers and also made mashed potatoes, it was amazing!!
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiep... got to eat free currywurst in the cafeteria which was really good. Then we were able to explore on our own if we wanted and then head back to Braunschweig. That night we also had another party for the completion of our summer classes. We had to make our own food again, so I made barbeque chicken, and everyone else made really good food. The place where it was located is tricky to get to but it was fun.
Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany plcouttsiep... and that I would leave trying to carry a million Volkswagen models and such. However, there was not much of that at all. Well, nothing that I hadn't already seen at home. So I was glad to leave without spending too much on junk!I stayed at the Porsche hotel on Porsche street. It cost me a fair bit, but it was the cheapest hotel I could find on the Internet.

We traveled to Wolfsburg via Berlin by Train. The trip from Prague to Berlin gave us a chance to see a bit of what was once East Germany. It reminded Ray a lot of driving through Wisconsin--including the deer stands overlooking the fields! When we arrived in Wolfsburg we met Sinje--Nadja and Eike's daughter. She's just about to start walking and was loads of fun. We stayed with Nadja's parents, Hans and Angelika, in Wolfsburg. The food was wonderful and ...
Wolfsburg, Germany candyandrayAt last we got to the town of wolfsburg, the home of Volkswagon, the wagon for the folks. I had aparticular interest here as i worked for VW in ireland. We decided to go to the exhibition center in the VW factory which was interesting enough but we then found out there was a small musuem with some of the earliest VW motors and some really cool concecpt cars which never made the porduction line. It was well worth all the extra kms.
