We've finally arrived in our final country of the trip. Well, sort of our final country. We do have 2 more flights which will take us through Rome, Prague, and Amsterdam, but we won't be leaving the airport for those, other than to sleep in the airport hotel in Prague. We left Bled this morning, returned the rental car & had lunch in Ljubljana …

    Baska to Krk Town

A travel blog entry by jephcottjourney on Jul 07, 2015

On our last full day we decided to drive the full length of the island, which only took 40 minutes and see the town of Baska. The town is famous for a stone tablet found with some of the areas oldest known language. The area is also famous for FKK, which is a acronym used to describe their nudist beaches. This trend was actually started by Queen Elizabeth II uncle, King Edward VIII, who loved to bath in the ...

The beach has quite a tidal change and goes out about a ¼ mile. The sea was very shallow and allowed for easy swimming for children as you could walk forever and it only went up to your knees. The mud smelled a bit like decomposing sea organisms. There were tons of clams in the sea bed and little crabs. The mud was ...

The drive from Plitvice was interesting and very beautiful. We drove through the city of Otocac where a lot of the fighting occurred in the 90's. The town still has a lot of visible signs of sniper holes in the buildings and some shelling damage. Em received a first hand lesson on some of the effects of war on a location. We rented an amazing 2 story apartment right in a small harbor in the town of Klimno. The island is famous for its caves and a beach with healing ...

... see fairies or something. Truly it was like out of a dream. We highly recommend this place to anyone travelling here. It was a wonderful walk through the cool bush and such a contrast to our hot beach holiday. I cannot describe this place and you will just have to enjoy the pictures. Wow what a wonderful bush walk and no wonder Croatians are so proud of this. Next time we will definitely make time ...
