      Well it is time to leave Romania. I have really enjoyed my visit. I had heard and read so many negative things about Romania yet I thought the country was great. The roads are fine, the drivers ok - not what I was told before going here.
      Romania is a big country and they are a little behind on infrastructure although there are motorways underway everywhere.

      ... him that our U.K insurance covers us in Europe too. As Romania was part of the EU we should be covered here. His reply was that not all EU rules were as yet established here. I decided the that rule of the British pound might do the trick so I took a risk and put 20 in his hand. It worked, we were free to go: no questions asked!

      ... bookstore to try and use up our Hungarian money buying a guide to India, no luck, but I did get Bram Stoker's Dracula to read in Transylvania. Unfortunately then we managed to miss a turning and do 9 miles through a random industrial estate before realising our error and having to cycle a hair-raising 4 miles back down the motorway to where we started.
