... like body parts and blood smeared walls) and led into our cells, aka our dining area. For 3,000 yen it was all you can eat and drink for 100 minutes. Everytime we wanted to order, we had to bang on our cells like prisoners. Then they would open the doors and take our orders. We ordered just about 1 of everything on the menu and had quite a few interesting cocktails; beers were served in graduated cylinders and mixed cocktails in beakers. Some of our food ...
Shinjuku, Kanto, Japan michellema... I felt were worth keeping. Asakusa We took land opposite the Asahi Beer Tower, with its golden "something" at the Asakusa area. First thing that greeted us was a panda-bus, which took us on a free ride around Asakusa. Still too hot after the unexpected sun, we felt tired once we got off the bus. We stepped into the Sensoji temple area to find ourselves ...
Tokyo, Japan svavar... last day (today). If you need to spend a night near Narita airport , this cheap hostel is highly recommended, if only for its incredibly friendly owner! We hope his business will do well! After shopping for a small mountain of food and souvenirs we knew we'd miss, we spend the early afternoon strolling through Narita city. We'd not been there before, so it was nice to discover some new, albeit familiar sights in Japan. We visited the big temple in the city ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan fiseb... a lot of people and did get to where I was to go without much of a hitch. It just takes a bit to get used to...but I should have it down in a couple of days. I then ventured off to Akihabra (Electronics District for Shoppinjg)...Sharon heaven!!! I had no clue what direction to go but followed some tourists and got me going. I went to this huge store full of electronics Akihabra Yoshi I think it:s called...7 floors of electronics and such. I ...

Tokyo, Japan elsewhere... The smell was also quite strong. So strong in fact that the moment you get off the subway which is right next to it or under it you can smell the heavy fishy smell. Starting to feel queasy we decided to move on and check out a local theater we had passed on our mission to find an ATM. It was now 2pm and one of the shows started at 2:15 so we got tickets. It turns out that they way Japanese theaters work is you can buy a ticket for the whole show in which case you ...
Tokyo, Japan romero... soo good, but I could see myself putting on a lot of weight if I came here often. Anyway, as we were on a mission to find a phone place we couldn't stay long in this part of Harajuku, but I vowed to come back soon. I wanted to spend a whole day there, with lots of money, but alas, I had neither of those. So it turns out that despite the Softbank website saying they had a Megastore (we figured a Megastore would be the place most ...
Shinjuku, Japan spacepup... best fish and rice for less then 10 dollars (20 min max, and 7 plates minimum) - Now that I've learned the words "Sugoi" (amazing!) and "Cawaii" (cute!) I've heard these words at least 100 times a day, in commercials, on the street, in every conversation... These are excitable people.... I'm heading to Osaka for a few days, and then our friend Wilson arrives this weekend. This trip is going way too fast. Take care peeps.
Tokyo, Japan rpinto... fought the forklifts (reminded me of 99 Cents) and finally made it back to the market. It was filled with sellers, buyers, workers, and yes a couple trillion fish and fish product. You just walked down the aisles and got caught up in the energy of the market. People cutting huge fish, people placing huge orders, people holding small wicker baskets buying their lunch or dinner. There were loads of fish I had never seen and ...
Tokyo, Japan scott_and_amy... but it was a couple of tram stops from the stadium and it closed at midnight instead of 10pm. And we had a private en suite. Much better! It was great to see something of Hiroshima other than just the Peace Park. The museum and memorials are very sad and striking, but having spent an extra night there gave us the chance to soak up the vibe of today's Hiroshima, which is a great place. Next up was a train trip to Matsuyama which is on Shukuko island. This ...
