Jalleen palattiin pikkukaupungin tuntumaan kun paastiin Iwakiin Moriokasta. Iwaki on lansirannikolla Tokiosta about 2h matka junalla.
Iwaki, Japan norsu... common occurrence here, I would guess ... so the long-distance views weren't so great. We drove as far south as J-PARC (Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex), the facility where the detector will be installed that Bernd is working on ... a neat area right on the coast, but they don't yet have visitors' facilities set up ... before cutting back over to the expressway.
Kitaibaraki, Japan bassalleckjFrom BNA (Nashville) airport to Denver, San Francisco for orientation...then to Arita airport in Tokyo. We had educational sessions for a week then flew into Fukuoka for a week long field study. We were then back in Tokyo for presentations and debriefing. Wonderful Opportunity!
Tokyo, United States my_cuppa_tea1Ok, so, 26 hours straight of local trains was a little too much. My stomach and head are both hurting, and I am ready to get there. I will never ride local trains for 26 hours straight again. But I do have all of the announcements in Japanese memorized. That's one way to learn Japanese.
Iwaki, Tohoku, Japan erincastillo... miss his good side at times), back at home with my parents after 4 years out of the house.. Scary thought that. But It's home... where I grew up so it's okay.. It will be hard for them because they've been on their own for a year.. to have me, the youngest, back will take some adjusting for all of us. I hope I make it to work on time... I live an hor from work and even tho I left with over an hour to spare... I'm a little worried.. and I'm ...
Tokyo, Japan ewie... change... I said to him I'm going to tell every student tomorrow and he said just say a friend or someone U know don't say host brother... hehehe. He's free now.. due at 4.00pm he handed it up with OODLES of time to spare - 3.59pm LOL!!! So we went to have lunch the other day and on the train he asked if I was free on Sat... I looked at him thought NO-ONE actually says Sat but I just shrugged it off and said Yes.. So he suggested climbing Takao.. I said let's start ...
Takao, Japan ewie... night to Karioki. I left back from Ange's room at 2.30 but they were out till 3.30 then Ange was panicking at 9am as her Sumitomo ATM card had gone missing.. So she asked me to come to Shinjuku with her to the bank to sort something out. The poor thing had sent her bank passbook home already and only had her gaijin card and passport. But we managed to get her some money.. as she's leaving tomorrow for Thailand for a month ...
Tokyo, Japan ewie... pointed at my shoes. But luckily there were shoes in the cupboard.. they didn't fit hardly at all but seeing as the big boss was coming in.. I had to do SOMETHING LOL LOL. And when I left the house I had an umbrella.. when I got to work I didn't.. I'd left it on the Chuo line.. but I didn't feel so bad as that umbrella was the umbrella Tatsu found on the train (btw in case U are wondering Tatsu, Tacchan, Chewy and Mazzy are all the same person) one day we went to ...
Tokyo, Japan ewie... on our hands.. hehe (Dec 17th 2006 - kicking myself for not getting a photo of one of them. I will rectify that in a couple of months. Turns out they don't wear hats in Australia - one of the first things I did when I got home was examine one closely.)
