Jalleen palattiin pikkukaupungin tuntumaan kun paastiin Iwakiin Moriokasta. Iwaki on lansirannikolla Tokiosta about 2h matka junalla. From BNA (Nashville) airport to Denver, San Francisco for orientation...then to Arita airport in Tokyo. We had educational sessions for a week then flew into Fukuoka for a week long field study. We were then back in Tokyo for presentations and debriefing. Wonderful Opportunity!

Ok, so, 26 hours straight of local trains was a little too much. My stomach and head are both hurting, and I am ready to get there. I will never ride local trains for 26 hours straight again. But I do have all of the announcements in Japanese memorized. That's one way to learn Japanese.

So she asked me to come to Shinjuku with her to the bank to sort something out. The poor thing had sent her bank passbook home already and only had her gaijin card and passport. But we managed to get her some money.. as she's leaving tomorrow for Thailand for a month ...
