So there are many days that I walk for hours and hours but for some reason today my feet are sore after venturing around Osaka all day. I took the train from Kyoto to Osaka this morning and then the subway to my hotel. I decided to try out a capsule hotel. What is a capsule hotel you may ask? Let me explain. First you enter the hotel and take off your shoes and put them in a locker by the door (very common in Japanese accommodations). Then you ...

... going and we say Shin Osaka and she says she is going there too, apparently she lives in Osaka. I think she is inviting us to her house, we pretend we don't understand. ... There's no tipping. After the US, this has been a joy. It's so nice when people do their job, do it well, with pride, for a pre-agreed fee. - The cabbies are great. For some reason taxis are an old man's game here - the youngest driver we had must have been in his late 50's, many were much older. Very sedate. Charming. - Trains were discussed previously. The drivers look like everyone's image of airline pilots - smart uniforms, peaked caps and briefcases. - There's ...
