    We eventually made it to Porto Venere after catching the train from Venice to La Spezia and a bus to Porto Venere. What a gorgeous place it is! Our apartment overlooked the harbour and the walk into town was on a stone promenade along the water's edge. It took about 15 minutes of FLAT walking.     ... thought we had finally accounted someone who WANTED to help. How wrong we were. In Italy, if it's too good to be true it is, no one helps you without a motive. And to too it off the train we were on was not the right one. Some funny bugger had put the wrong train platforms on the signs. But it was going to Pisa but just a little later than usual.     ... the place - got sorted and Jol has scraped his new paint job we found busy and kel surprise friendly and had nice meals of 'Tourist menu’ of fish and Spag bol and ice cream for the nervous passenger….well it is my comfort food!
