We had to bribe the kids tonight, as they have ordered Penne Pasta with just tomato sauce every night since we have been in Italy! They need to have more protein- so tonight they went for Penne Bolognaise, and they were allowed to have extra screen time tonight.

Whoever said that parents should not resort to bribery, obviously never had any kids of heir own!

Katie and I got gelato and then made our way up to the train station that would get us back to La Spezia. We were both exhausted when we finally made it back to our hotel room around 11 that night.
Our room was tiny and the bed was hard as a rock but I fell asleep so fast it didn't even matter. ...

... sleep – something we needed as the next day we would hit the trail of 5terre.

I could tell that Stacy was a little nervous about doing the trail. If you haven’t been there before the notion of hiking 9km over 5+ hours through 5 towns in the summer-like sun on tiny trails that drop off into the ocean hundreds of feet below with throngs of other people, can seem like no-so-much fun. But Stacy is a trooper and off we went.
