    ... takes about 2 minutes straight through the hill. We didn't take his advice but 2/3 way up the first hill decided that his advice was good and the photo we got was good enough. The rough, steep, precarious path was more adventure than we were looking for so we bailed out and made our way back down. Sweat was our friend by this time.

    Swim before lunch at the area shown in the photos. Not really sure what to call it - not strictly a rock ...

    ... moment we knew we were ready for our first Italian dinner. We sat down for our first dinner in Italy at a small restaurant just down the way from our hotel. We ordered a boiling pot of stuffed mussels to start then shared entrees of homemade gnocchi with fresh pesto and spaghetti with fresh seafood. For dessert we had panna cotta and tiramisu.     ... eggs that he had. They looked like the old milk glass eggs, but I realized I would prefer real milk glass eggs (just in case you were every wondering), so instead got a small bowl of lightly veined marble. It looks like a little dish that the Vanderbilts would have had in their 1920s kitchen, and I love it. It was about 20E, but one of those purchases that I just am thrilled with.

    ... the place - got sorted and Jol has scraped his new paint job we found busy and kel surprise friendly and had nice meals of 'Tourist menu’ of fish and Spag bol and ice cream for the nervous passenger….well it is my comfort food!

    ... plenty to see out the window. We changed trains at Milan and on the second leg of the journey we went through the mountains. It was like a smaller version of the Swiss Alps in spring time.
