... was that we were there for the last 2 days of lobster season. So we were lucky to have some of our dishes.
-after finally exiting the prolonged dinner we went for a walk in the "town." There was nothing there so we headed home for sleep.
-today's bike stats: elapsed time 5, rolling time 3:30, distance 55 km.

... us poor souls a loo. This was the second of big sad farewells, as Gabe our amazingly awesomely fabulous driver stays behind (and heads home to Hungary), we continued on. Lets just say I'm sure he felt the love when the 30 odd of us left descended on him in a massive group hug!!! As customs was fast we were able to catch an earlier ferry (by 1hr) so no waiting around. ... I had to try another Bruges beer before we left. A big glass case filled the left-hand side wall leading up to the bar and the signs indicated every beer was available. There were hundreds of them. I found a raspberry beer I thought sounded nice and went up to order it, only to be told I could have cherry beer, which was on tap, but not raspberry. Six beers were on tap and that's all that was available. Talk about false advertising! Not being a fan ...

... discovered there was a bell and was greeted by the owner with a big hug as if I was a long lost friend. It was too early to book in but we were shown where to park the car and given keys and a tour before we headed off to explore the town.

Day 6
We landed in Ghent, but the excursion today was to Bruges, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval cities, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bruges is wonderful. Now Jean feels like she has been to Europe.
We took the bus from an industrial landing in Ghent to the outskirts of Bruges. Our program manager walked us into town to our canal boats for the canal boat tour of Bruges. A word here about the headsets and ...
