        Anyone who knows me knows that I am far from being the romantic type, but even for me, I have to admit, Bruges wooed me (especially the windmills!), and love was in the air!

        We were helped along again by a magnificent accommodation (thanks AGAIN Airbnb). It was like our own little place. A 2 level converted garage completely separate from the main house, decorated with African artefacts and other homely nic-nacs, in a beautiful garden with deck chairs ...

The fields look lush now, but farmers are still plowing up ordnance and even bones every spring. We visited the British Cemetery at Paschendaehle where over 11,000 are buried and many more are memorialized.         ... we get to the first bridge, we see a booth for boat tour tickets so we grab them and get on the boat. Am so thankful we did because the boats just got more and more crowded and more of them on the canals as the day went on. as it was, we only passed a boat maybe every 5 minutes instead of every minute.

        ... although I don’t think trying to juggle a camera AND an umbrella would have made life any easier). Next stop was a chocolate museum and were given a demonstration of how Belgian chocolate is made (and also more yummy samples which is always good). It reminded me of the chocolate tasting workshop I went to for my hen party. We were then given time to look round the museum and shop if we wanted to before continuing the tour.
