      ... impressive.

Then today was our last day in Faistenau and it was a good day. It mostly stopped snowing and we had something exciting to do! The four hills tournament was on today in Bischofshofen so we drove there. It was only the qualifiers today but it was still really awesome, its a big international competition, though there were no Australian competitors there... Basically the aim of the sport is to ski down a really big slope then ...

Our taxi driver seemed thrilled to get out of town (or earn €20 in one 20 minute drive) but also pulled over to photograph the view. We arrived in Werfenweng, Austria on the 22nd December. The place was a magic white winter wonderland. It had snowed the day before, so there was ground covering. We found the apartment which is a lovely Austrian house. We went and organised a ski lesson for the kids and got their gear. We went out for a lovely dinner and walked home in -4. The next day, we road the gondola up the mountain for the kids lesson. There was not much snow ...

Driving from Munich to Salzburg gave us a "taste" of the beauty that awaits us in Bavaria and Switzerland, as we passed numerous small towns nestled in the rolling hills of the lower Tyrolean Alps. Oh, did I say "taste"? Maybe that was a psychological slip, because really Salzburg has been one wonderful gastronomic "taste" after another, as the pictures show.
Arriving here Tuesday afternoon, we unpacked at our charming pension, and ...
