We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

I knew from the Bari Incident and the resulting re-booking efforts that there was a ferry leaving Piraeus for Naxos at 17:30. I looked at a passing sign. Αθήνα, 150 km. We approached the bus driver and asked how much longer it would be until we arrived in Sarande. 'No Sarande,' he replied, 'Fier'. We did our best to communicate with him as he didn't speak much English and we ...

... over who was entitled to the 2 bowls of chips ordered was perhaps just a sign of what was to come.

The following day we planned to catch the bus to Ksamil. While packing the bag to go to the beach Steve realised he had forgotten his trunks (although passed the blame on very well!). We stopped near the bus stop to buy another pair, and despite turning down the opportunity to try them on on the side of the road, opted for XXL! He blames the Albanian sizing, but ...
