The Pantanal
... frogs sounded like there was a formula 1 race on down the road - CRAZY. We went out for a quick night drive just to see if we could spotlight anything ... we did see a crab eating racoon, but not much else.
The next day we left the lodge and headed back to Cuiaba to catch a flight back to Rio. This drive home we got to see a deer, tonnes of lizards and a turtle crossing the road.

There Will Be No Plan 'B' Today
... below becomes more arid with scrub growing instead of the lush rainforest. The presence of small streams punctuates the drab landscape with meandering rows of brilliantly green trees. Giant agri-farms with brown fallow fields begin to dominate the landscape. We presume they were recently harvested and will be planted in advance of the rainy season.

... had to spend quite some time filling out a Property Irregularity Report, again via a translator. Unfortunately, the girl filling out the form clearly didn’t understand what was being told to her and her writing so appalling as to be virtually illegible.
We left the airport having been told that we will be called at 15.00 that afternoon with an update. So we got a taxi to Hotel Ramos hopeful that our bags would be joining us ...

It was an early'ish start on Saturday for myself, 3 Spaniards, and Jessie (Australian) as we wanted to be on our boat to Manaus in time to get a good spot to hang our hammocks. Bom Dia from Brazil
... t sure which country we were flying to, so rather than ask the question I waited for them to hand out the immigration forms, which to my relief were Brazilian. Minor crisis averted.
