Hi again guys!!! Im alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had the most challenging but amazing week of my trip so far, after leaving La serena we took another ghastly night bus to San Pedro de Atacama for our first brush with altitude!!! It was an awsome little town in the desert, an oasis among sand and weird rock formations!!! it was very european (suprising, but understandable with the huge number of tourists!). I spent the fisrt night in the usual style and hung out in acool bar, ate lasag...
Sucre, Bolivia amberchatwin Well hello all!
So Kaz, Loz and I have finally made it to Bolivia! So great to be here, we flew out of Buenos Aires yesterday, planning on staying in Santa Cruz. But, after looking at the time we´ve got left, and all the things we still want to do, we decided to push on and catch a connecting flight up to Sucre. We had a choice of either a bus or plane. 17 hours by bus, 35 mins by plane. Clearly it wasn´t hard to decide to put the $80 on the table for the flight!!!
We love it h...

We met 11 of those on our tour in the reception of the hotel at 8am
ready for our transfer to the airport for our flight to Sucre at
10am. We arrived in Sucre at 10.45am where we met our tour guide and
another 5 people on our tour, making a total of 16. We then made our
way to the hotel and checked into our rooms, Laura and Zoe were
sharing and Daniel was in with a lad called Nick.
The remainder of the day was a free day to do with as we pleased. We<...
Potosí, Bolivia gaellelcWe have finally made it to Sucre. The flight was amazing, from the flats around Santa Cruz you soon come across the mountain region that leads to the city and then it is right there. It is strange to see a city sat directly on the top of low mountains and not in the valley, it spreads out across the peaks, a host of white coloured buildings and terracotta roofs. It is the constitutional capital of Bolivia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is named after a revolutionary called Antonio Jose ...
Sucre, Bolivia jamesandjulie Greetings from Sucre, the captial of Bolivia - this is an amazing country, it has such a cool vibe, definately enjoying it more then Peru!
La Paz was a spectacular city to view as we arrived on the bus, the following morning we did a morning city tour which gave us some bearings for the city & a good perspective as well, the guide was really informative & the tour was well worth while. Ian, Kirsty, Cara & I then explored the streets close by for the afternoon but first we share...
Hola Everyone!
About a week and a half ago we touched down in South America! First stop La Paz, Bolivia where we had to stop and catch our breath thanks to the mix of altitude, pollution, and cigarette smoke - coming from a country where smoking is illegal in public places it is hard to get used to the clouds of smoke that surround us in all the restaurants and cafés here - it´s disgusting and my least favorite thing about this city! A city where it is already hard to breath and every...
Sucre je hlavni mesto Bolivie. Jsme tady tri dny. Uzivame si luxusniho hotelu na bolivianske pomery a toulame se mestem. Jeden vecer jsme vyrazili na parbu do baru. Taky jsme videli film o hornicich ve stribrnych dolech v Potosi kam jedeme zitra ve ctvrtek.
Sucre is the capital city of Bolivia. Here we are staying for four days. We are enjoying the luxury hotel in Bolivia in which we are staying at. During the day we are resting and walking trough the city. In the evening we went out t...
Hi again everyone Well, we´ve moved on from Potosi and made it into Sucre after a 3 hour bus journey - no strikes, no road blocks etc which was pretty lucky! Just driving into Sucre the difference in the city is just amazing. You can feel the wealth as opposed to everywhere else we´ve been in Bolivia. Sucre is the offical capital of Bolivia although La Paz is technically bigger and has more industry. There seems to be a bit of rivalry between the two cities. The nice thing about Sucre is that...
Sucre, Bolivia nicpam...
Sucre, Bolivia terredeshommes... it starts to flow a little more naturally. Sucre is a good place to learn (thanks Hickey) - nice town, cheap and not too much happening to distract you. Not sure how you would learn in a big city because with all the distractions, you wouldn´t have any time to sit down and actually learn the stuff. Excited leaving though as I am going down to Uyuni and the Salt Pans which is one of the highlights of everybodys trip to South America. Hasta Luego
