... I would have to cycle 70 miles the next day. I am not going to lie, I was scared.

Quote of the day from Alex: "its illegal to wear clothes on a nuddist beach".

Also, a bit of advice, nuddist beaches are full af pretty mental people. Generally though, people who are just walking around thinking "hey, look how much I dont care, whatever man, its natural". So, I´m lying there thinking "who cares how much you care","what you are is mental". We stayed just ...
Vera, Andalusia, Spain chris_jones01Air raid sound. Thats how we woke up this time. Although, no air raid, just a noise a near by factory makes every now and then. SO, considering I was up early thought I would go for a run and I ended up getting chased by a massive tractor and saw a flat dog. Nevertheless this would be a good and, hopefully, normal day because we had planned to arive in Vera where we would meet Tracy (one of my ...
Vera, Andalusia, Spain chris_jones01Waking up late and having a lovely breakfast of old biscuits sets you up perfectly for riding on the motorway. The thing about cycling on the motorway is everybody driving on it wants to beep you. Why? i ask. Are you truly concerned for our safety? if so dont panic us by f-in beeping next to us! We are already dealing with loads of glass on the hard shoulder, articulated trucks flying ...
Águilas, Murcia, Spain chris_jones01... We got there early enough to have breakfast then left for Almeria. The bus stopped 4 times but we only got off once for lunch.
When we got to Almeira we found out that there is only one car rental at the bus-train station and it was very expensive. I had rented a car on a courtesy hold at the airport. We got a cab for 11 Euros to the airport and had no problem getting the car. Be sure to get insurance! It ...
Palomares,Vera, Garrucha, MoJacar, Andalusia, Spain must_travelI had to wean myseft away from the area, and the next day just drove a bit up the coast, past more un(der)-developed beaches at Escullos and El Playazo, and ended up staying in Las Negras, another fishing village which is sleepy by the water-front but with massive construction going on behind it.
Las Negras, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands travellerbruceReturned to San Jose. Next day drove around to the town of Cabo de Gata, saw the salt-pans, went up the the "Cape", saw the incredible beach of Cabo de Gata, had great lunch there, then went around to the beach at Monsul. Eventually decided I HAD to leave!!
San Jose, Burgundy, Spain travellerbruce... as I did, that you could buy tickets from the driver, and he didn't want to disturb his munching. Lazy sod. The information desk at Almeria bus station told me that the bus to San Jose was at 12.30, but they'd forgotten it was Saturday and so I had to wait around for a couple of hours. Leaving Almeria, the road becomes surrounded by acres and acres of polythene-covered hot-houses. The landscape appears to be one vast white sheet ...
San Jose, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands travellerbruce... makes it even harder to see the passage of time. Still, time has passed by, as evidenced by women stopping to wear veils and adopting instead the European beach vacation dream, of sitting around topless on the beach, smoking a cigarette with one hand and holding the cell-phone with the other.... We were worried when we first got here that we would get bored, and we had taken note of the nearby Hollywood western movies studios, an aqua park in a ...
Mojacar, Spain and Canary Islands tavini... at the supermarket just in the nick of time about renting an apartment(all this in broken spanish, very funny hearing sal ask in spainsh if we could rent tents). The man had one availible for quite a reasonable price, us three girls a little dubious about what we where getting ourselves in for when the man was taking us to the apartment as the town seemed quite 'ŕizty', we thought maybe just some little room or something but to our surprise he lead us to a whitewashed ...
Las Negras, Spain salkelely... the hostel. We waited for about 30 minutes to get our rooms and key and such. ONE KEY for four people, mind you! We went up to the room. It was half the size of a triple dorm room with four beds! Cramped, but I thought it was cozy. All I wanted to do was call my mommy and fall asleep. NO! I couldn't do that, because I could NOT get the phone card to work on these machines here for the life of me!!! No mommy. Fine. Let's go eat ...
