... the sunbathing so took a stroll all the way down to the rocky end of the beach, harassed some sizeable crabs, and then wandered back up, hoping I would catch a bit of sun whilst walking. ... But at least they broke on an island where shoes aren't a necessity. Our first full day we were up bright and early and on the beach soaking up the sun, reading and generally doing what you do on an island - not very much. Caz did make friends with some fish who cleaned her feet for her and we both managed to take shade underneath a coconut tree without being hit on the head and killed by a falling coconut (this actually causes more deaths than you'd realise!). ... we picked up 2 German girls also bound for Pulau Perhentian (I was beginning to feel a little left out). we headed to the dockside town were they were all dropped off to catch the boat crossing. I meanwhile still had the best part of an hours drive to Kota Bharu.
