      ... the light given off by the show, and my camera just isn't capable of getting a good shot in such low light. C'est la vie.

      Virginie had offered an optional lunch in Les Baux, which 12 of us took her up on. We ate outside at La Reine Jeanne and had cod with aioli, a boiled potato, and multiple vegetables (I ate my beans and carrots). It was very good, particularly the aioli, and very filling.

      ... water but i think we are spoilt with our beaches and i just admired the view. The photos tell the story! I couldn't help but think that the most panoramic view of thus entire area was actually deck 15 with a drink in hand. The ships in this little bay are impressive and the view of the houses the same.       After 23 hours awake we had caught a train, two planes and a bus and feel into our bed of a little French hotel close to St Gare railway station. Swiss Air, great service, staff and food, thumbs up beat Lufthansa for friendliness by a country mile. Zurich airport great transit very efficient, we only have 40 minutes and immigration was so quick. ...

      ... the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Saturday Brocante.

      in October 2013, the local council opened the Promenade du Paillon, a beautiful use of a flood drain designed to safely filter snow melt water out to the sea. The wise councillors of Nice decided to delete the ugly old drain, move it underground and put beautiful parklands on top. Win, win.       ... because the floats were so big you could see them over the fences!

      Some of the highlights of our trip included getting lost in the various neighborhoods, eating lunch on the grass in the park, dancing with the locals, navigating the lockers/trains/buses, and spending time at the small cafes in the sun!
