... Those who recall OHMSS, with George Lazenby as James Bond will recognise the Schiltorn as "Piz Gloria" as this is where the Alpine scenes where filmed. Spectacular! From the village, you have a clear view of the Eiger, the Munch, and the Jungfrau just peeps over them. Fantastic mountain scenery, and we were blessed with a wonderful clear day to enjoy it. The cable car ride down was fun, partly because ...

      ... no snow for sledding.

We then had a walk through the town, which had a big church but not much else. The shops were already closed since it was Christmas eve so we headed back. On the way we drove through the Todtmoos which I thought was meant to be a national park with a nice place to stop but we didn't find anything other than a small town. There were little waterfalls everywhere which go under the road and look very pretty.

      Preparations under way

A travel blog entry by dpk on Mar 19, 2011

Well... It's still a while until we are planning to leave.... and we seem to be dragging our feet a little bit too. Guess when one has still so much time ahead, the urgency of preparation is simply not there.. :-)

Any-who... we seem to finally have a list of countries we would wish to visit, and an estimate of how much time we would like to spend in each... but ...
