    We left Tuesday morning at 7:00am for observations in the Swiss pre-K through 8th grade school in Bern.  Our host family attends this school and Anja, the mother, teachers at this school.     ... amazing rapids, waterfalls, AND an unexpected hydroelectric dam!! WHAT?!  YES!  We learned that this is still a functional dam and supplies energy to Biel.  I have not yet researched everything on it, but we were told by workers that it still does supply energy, however I do not know if it is all of its energy.  We are used the hydroelectric dams being much much larger than this one, but is very neat that they still utilize this one, even if it is only a small ...

    I need to mark Basel on the map & would also like to say to anyone reading this that might be planning a trip to the area, we stayed at The Passage hotel - it was EXCELLENT ! and I would highly recommend it; awesome shower, big rooms, comfy bed, mini fridge (if you can afford that sort of thing), a fantastic gym downstairs, and just a hop, skip, and jump away from anything and everything you could possibly want. ...
