... used the last 10 days to prepare myself for the trip in the comfortable surroundings of the reknown town of Essen, Germany. Essential parts of the preparation process have been eating and sleeping.
I am fully aware that by now, the receptive reader has been sucked into this blog. Rest assured that I will update this manbirth of mine irregularly with vague and superfluos updates of my daily life in South Asia, written in poor English. Jumpa Lagi!

Since I am quite busy with trying to motivate myself, the preperation of the Big Trip is more in Rebeccas hands. She is really devouring the Lonely ...

One solo artist brought a flute onto the stage that was probably 3 metres long. 3 people held it and played the notes with their fingers and the one guy blew into it! Incredible, low, hollow sounds! After class I went back to the Hotel. Tara had said that she had had a craving for Potato salad all week, so we decided that we would eat some for dinner. Trevor and I went to buy some more potatoes and then we got to work cooking it. We were working within a pretty tight timeframe because we were going to see the Ballet that night. As it ended up happening dinner was a shambles ...

It is now officially Winter. Yesterday the highest temperature was -3 and today on the way to Uni it snowed! Only slightly, but never the less, there was snow. This weekend it is supposed to snow quite a lot. I am looking forward to it. I will be in Lauterbach, Wurzburg and Rothenburg, and all will look so romantic covered in white. My teacher warned me that if the snow persists, I will have to ...
... everyone about what had happened to us last night, so Rafael wore a suit, Martin wore a suit jacket and we tried to dress up as best we could to make ourselves presentable. Ironically, there were hundreds of kids, families, school excursions and the like at the Opera, and only a few oldies.
They tried to 'modernise' it a bit, so that it was more like a dream than a reality. The Prince wasn't in a wood, he was in bed and ...

La Boheme was really good. It helped to have the storyline of Rent in my head as we went. Some parts were a little confusing. The sets were amazing, costumes very simple for the artists and ...
... for their freedom, longing to be outside and know what was happening. The TV wasn't working, a static screen unable to abate our curiosity. One laptop managed to connect to the internet but took 15 minutes to download the German news page. "was ist passiert" ask the students. They crowd around the screen, brows furrowed as they translate the German text into their own language. 8 people have been killed in Germany during the hurricane. It has ...
