Kribi, Sud, Cameroon interport... all around and Moïse and I drove back to my hotel. The drive back had its share of interesting sites: the markets never fail to fascinate. One will see strange things on the street, like parts of a butchered pig being pushed along in the street on a handcart with a half-dressed insane person on the sidewalk behind. Love it or hate it, Africa will rarely bore you. Once arrived, we talked for another hour ...
Douala, Cameroon joelmeeker... I tried to clarify each time. Then it was 5:15 and time for me to start back to the Ibis. The taxi we had hired to come pick me up didn't show up. We made the mistake of paying him for the morning run up front (as he requested), so if he didn't feel like coming back in the afternoon, he really didn't have to, and he didn't! Moïse went to get another one, and we bounced our way back to the hotel. The taxi smelled strongly of "palm wine ...
Douala, Cameroon joelmeeker... and diarrhea.... At 1:30 we started the seminars: I gave PowerPoint presentation for 90 minutes on being aware of our strengths and weaknesses. We took a 20 minute break and then covered Fundamental Beliefs for another 90 minutes. It was around 5:00 when we finished, tired by the exertion of concentrating and discussing important issues in very hot, and even more humid conditions. We had told the taxi drive ...
Douala, Cameroon joelmeeker... beer. Down a dirt track we stopped and asked a local who directed us just 5 minutes further on to a wooden shack type place on the side of the dirt road. They were grilling fish out the front and had a TV inside. The beers were ice cold and the right price of 500 for a large. Not thinking it could get any better the boys were over the moon when rugby, Wales v France, came on the telly. Needless to say we settled in there for the ...

An excursion in the opposite direction goes to the 'Londji' beach, said to be the best beach in all of Cam**oon.Basically it is a fish**men's village wh**e some *****ian refugees ...
Kribi, Cameroon tom-of-boracayKribi is a small beachside town south of Douala, one with a busy central market and numerous small scale resorts scattered along the waterfront road north and south of town. Kribi is in the part of Cameroon that was a former French colony, so its advantages over the former English colonies we spent so much time in include good baguettes, pain au chocolat, croissants and the other delights of the French patisserie. Kribi is now also an oil port as it was ...
Kribi, Cameroon modernnomad67Dream Rating: ; ; ; D- Background This was the third evening in Kribi. I spent a lazy day on the beach around the resort and ate a fish dinner by myself at the resort's restaurant. I apparently fell asleep in a hammock by the beach after dinner and woke up to go to my tent around midnight. This dream took place while I was sleeping in the hammock for a few hours. The Dream This is ...
Kribi, Cameroon modernnomad67Dream Rating:   ; ; A- Background It was our first night in Kribi, a beach town south of Douala. We were camping outside a small beachside resort. There was a nice restaurant there but only fish and seafood dishes available that night. I stayed and ate fish dinner there while my potential dining companions took a taxi into town for more dinner options. As I was finishing my dinner I was joined by a prostitute named Linda. Linda wanted to join me in my tent ...
