On approach, we intercepted the 029 radial inbound to runway 03. The airport is offset and past a large valley, it had a massive tree at the threshold! Would be interesting to put a B737 there!

After a couple of false starts, finally a breakthrough and we tried an old classic, the 727-200. Take off on a hot day out of Chad, into a varied landscape of initially green and then turned into a desert before the green returning as we approached Douala, on the coast.

... rained out attempt to walk to Lobe waterfalls (along the beach), we made up for it with some wine and good food. Day 2 we had stellar weather, and Petra, Nynke and I walked on the beach for 2 hours, with a taking a break and drinking coconut milk, and made it to Lobe Falls. 23rd February My left foot had swollen up overnight, so I was limping, but my right knee was OK. I re-sorted my stuff, and then had a lazy day resting the legs.
