... Brother Petro is ready to go out. We head out before the group arrives. Sotmir is hoping Harold (one of the missionaries I had met before) will call but says he is unreliable with messages.

After witnessing, we go on Sotmirs tour. We follow the ancient Roman wall up to a vantage point above the amphitheater where we can see the outline of the ancient city. It is not well looked after and could be a real interesting tourist attraction. We keep going ...

... car lots. There wasn’t any product differentiation or individuality (bar the occasional unusual looking petrol station canopy) and there just didn’t seem to be a whole lot of imagination going on. ... m damned if we could find it. Many more of the olive trees are over 1000 years old. The one in the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem is said to be the same one as was there 2000 years ago too.

Drove right on down the coast almost to the Albanian border south of Ulcinj; A very uninspiring bit of coast that is. A dark gray sand beach which probably looked worse in the rain; A river whose banks were lined with the same sort of tin shanties ...

... times and in the end, we needed six separate locals to give us the complete set of directions to the Tirana bus stop. We chucked our bags into the luggage hold and the bus driver then disappeared. We waited next to the bus stop for 10min before we decided to sit at the restaurant next to the bus and have a coffee while we kept an eye out for our driver.

We’d ordered drinks before the four of us realised that none of ...
