... found out that the Delos ferry had already left for the day, I turned around, walked a few steps, and immediately came face-to-face with a GIANT pink pelican! It was sitting on the ground, not moving, and I stared at it a while trying to figure out whether or not it was real. Today was a public holiday (see yesterday's entry) and everything was closed except the cafés which were doing a great business. The sun was out for a lot of the day too.

The school kids were out in force again with their marching and drumming and having a great time. There were priests and lots of dignataries laying wreaths and then more marching and drumming through the lined streets. It was quite moving to see.
