Why you ask, died and gone to Alba, well Alba is the home of Ferrero Rocher.

The countryside is truly amazing and how they fit and build homes into these hills and mountains continues ...

... for lunch in an authentic Italian cafe with great rustic Italian food. It is like an old school bar, while you are drinking they serve complimentary food, pizza, savoury pastries, crisps etc, just plain .old fashion customer service. For lunch we ordered Spaghetti Bol and vanilla bean gelato for dessert. Ummm sorry Ben and Jerry's but I am now converted to Italian Gelato, absolutely yummy.

So excited for the next part of our ...

... city of Alba for one day of the every-weekend-in-October truffle festival. Dozens of street vendors lined the streets selling truffles, mushrooms, vegetables, spices, nuts, wine and sweets. The "truffle market" itself was held in a huge closed tent, with dozens of truffle vendors, and a "guarantee" judge where one took the purchased truffle to certify the quality and authenticity of said truffle. When we saw the prices, we understood why shopper would ...
