We had a chilled weekend and this evening we went for a walk down on the local beach and took some more photos back up to the village in which we are staying. Years ago it was a major venue for mass bridge tournaments so it is called the "Villagio Dei Bridge" - but now it has a few full time residents, but most of the apartments are either holiday homes or no longer used. ... Camerota. On the on the way back down the coast, we spotted a statue, way up on top of one of the mountains and decided to go and find it !! ... line on its way to Messina. The best bit but also the weirdest was when the train itself boarded the ferry, then we were able to get off, have a beer, stretch our legs and enjoy the views across the bay. The weather was not looking good, quite drizzly and even the odd flash of lightning over Messina. I shall be glad to get to our final tour destination, well final for me, as I then return home, home from Sicily on Friday but there are still three full days ...

    I survived the Trans-Atlantic flight!

I have arrived! It was a long flight without too much sleep, but fairly uneventful. The first thing I met in Naples were stairs. In an airport, with two bags. Several flights of stairs, and this is a large airport! What happened to escalators? I have heard you do a lot of stairs in Italy, but I didn't expect them in the airport! Once upstairs, I wandered around a bit trying to find a certain restaurant where I was supposed to meet ...
