... the ferry to bellagio....a bit touristy for us so found a nice lady in a deli who made us a massive sandwich each - salami, ham, local cheeses.a..total cost $5 .....then walked over the hill and found some nice lane ways and little harbours ... A visit to the Western side of Lake Como
Slept in until after 8 this morning. Cold and cloudy outside so we had a slow breakfast and some good conversation around the dining room table for the whole morning. Interesting views from the cottage - sometimes looking out above the clouds at the sunshine but seeing nothing of the lake below.
In the afternoon we greatly enjoyed a driving excursion around the northern edges of the lake ...
Birthday celebrations in the mountains
... Madona Del Telgio ancient Romanesque church) and Rezzonico. Walked off a little of the good food we have had during a lake side walk and a few sets of stairs down to the water. Getting a little cool outside (6°) we returned home for a short village walk and then inside for hot tea. Repacked a bag so Fides and Jorg could take it back to Germany ...
Bellissimo Bellagio
... some' sampling of schnapps and first drinks of the cheap (4E for 700ml) Italian brandy added some mirth and frivolity to the evening. Lots more fun negotiating languages and translations.
