... kids are also on school holidays here so the place was packed but we only wanted an overnighter so all good. Just got Fifi settled onto the dirt pitch and the heavens opened up, excellent!!! Well we had decent facilities at least, good shower, pretty good food and good wine so we were set for the evening, aside from sloshing through the mud to get to the shower life was great. Up bright and early the next morning to head for ...

The Michaelangelo is very comfortable and helps us recover from our experiences at the hands of Mr Grimaldi and also from the disappointing ride up from Puglia. The clouds part as the Raven sets off in the morning for Bologna and we thoroughly enjoy the journey through some really lovely countryside. Lots of coastal hills and valleys, all beautifully tended with vines, fruit trees and neatly ploughed fields, often on steep inclines. The road ...

Today Susan and I crossed 1,000 kilometers pedaled so far! Although we are still along the coast, the terrain has become more hilly and much more rural south of Pescara. The shore is dotted with little fishing villages and roadside stands where the fisherman sell their daily catch. We stopped in the town of San Salvo Marina, got a beach front hotel room, slept on the beach for a while and then enjoyed another great fish dinner. Thanks for coming ...
