... So salads are a much better deai, and more wholesome. Then into Golden Gate Park. Massive site (3 miles by 0.5 mile) with lots to see. Being a Sunday it was very busy in several places. Leaving LA we headed off on our tour. Stop no 1 was the Palm Springs aerial tram which was a very long, very steep cable car up the side of a rather large mountain. Kylie didn't really enjoy the ride as it was a little bumpy going over the towers. The views were awesome from up the top although the temp was the coldest we had felt so far in the US. ... olive groves, with tall cypress or poplar trees; very Mediterranean looking. Then through flat, cattle ranch countryside and finally we began ascending into forested hillsides, many of the trees were scorched and blackened by the forest fires. The winding mountain road took us to 6000 ft before making our descent to the valley floor, where we would be staying. The scenery was breathtaking...
